National Hazing Awareness Week (NHAW), happening September 22–26, 2025, is a powerful opportunity for students, families, and campus professionals to raise awareness and take action to prevent hazing.
HazingInfo.org and the research organization StopHazing teamed up to create a set of free hazing awareness tools that make it easy to learn, share, and engage to help keep students safe from campus hazing.
Knowledge is power. Look up your school in the HazingInfo Campus Search Database to learn what your campus is — or is not — doing to prevent hazing.
With almost 1,500 US colleges and universities listed, the database provides:
Action: Share the link to HazingInfo’s Campus Search Database with your network. Search your campus today and share at least one fact with college students and families in your life.
StopHazing’s NHAW Social Media Toolkit and HazingInfo’s 50-State Launch Kit are packed with ready-to-use graphics, sample captions, and hashtags to keep hazing prevention visible all week long. These tools make it easy for students, organizations, and administrators to spread awareness without needing to design content from scratch.
Action: Download the toolkit and share a post each day during NHAW using the hashtags #FactsAboutHazing and #StopHazing. Tag us at @hazinginfo and @stop.hazing.
Few resources spark dialogue like HAZING, the award-winning documentary by Byron Hurt that dives into the culture, consequences, and human impact of hazing. To make screenings even more impactful, StopHazing offers companion guides on topics like mental health, power dynamics, and bystander intervention designed to help facilitators lead conversations.
Action: Register to view the film here during NHAW. Watch the film and use the companion guides to frame a discussion afterward.
Engaging students in hands-on activities can shift perspectives and inspire action. StopHazing’s interactive tools — like Hazing Prevention Bingo and the Hazing Case Role-Playing Game — make hazing prevention approachable and memorable.
Action: Reserve a table on campus during NHAW. Use one of these tools to start conversations as students pass by.
Ending hazing requires more than awareness—it takes commitment. The Hazing Prevention Pledge is an opportunity for students, staff, and community members to make a public promise to challenge harmful behaviors and create healthy, safe groups.
Action: Encourage your campus community to sign the pledge during NHAW. Share photos or quotes from students or parents to inspire others.
Follow these steps by using HazingInfo’s Campus Search Tool to get the facts about hazing and StopHazing’s prevention tools to help end it.
Together, we can build healthier, safer experiences for college students.
